  • The Level 2 in Cyprus Paralegal studies is a short 12 week intensive course and serves as an introduction to Cyprus law, legal skills and professional standards

Length of Study:
  • 12 weeks
Dates & Hours:
  • 1 evening class of 2 hours per week
Course Content: Module 1 – The Legal Environment of Cyprus;

Aims of the module:
  • To understand the nature and classification of the law
  • To understand the sources of the law in Cyprus
  • Understand the Cypriot Court system
  • Understand professional legal standards that must be followed by advocates in Cyprus
  • Understand Alternative Dispute Resolution

Module 2 – Cyprus Legal Skills.

Aims of the module:
  • Understand and learn professional legal communication skills – oral and written
  • Understand standards of professionalism in a law firm
  • Learn legal research skills
  • Learn statute and case law reading skills
  • Understand and learn law firm marketing and account keeping
  • Draft a professional CV and cover letter
Language of Instruction:
  • English
  • Greek translations of important legal terminology are also provided
Assessment:
  • Module 1: By test
  • Module 2: Written coursework
Course Fee:
  • 600 euros in total
  • payable over 4 month instalments.
  • This cost covers all teaching materials
  • Payment can be made by bank transfer, cheque or cash.
Admission Requirements:
  • There is no requirement for previous legal experience or law qualifications for admission to this course.
Ongoing Career Progression:
  • This course will help anyone who is already working in the legal market get to grips with the law in Cyprus and enable them to progress their legal career.
  • Successful completion of the course will assist the student in finding an employed position in a law firm and will enable the student to progress on to the Level 3 Certificate in Paralegal Practice
