The Certificate in European Law Foundations offers the student an introduction to the key fundamental underpinning concepts, terms and processes in European Union law and the impact that this system has upon Cypriot law.
The course is structured over 4 weekly evening class/weekend sessions and covers the following core topics:
- An introduction to the history and principal institutions of the European Union
- The primary and secondary sources of European Union law together with training on how to locate EU laws
- The general principles underpinning EU law such as supremacy, conferral, subsidiarity, proportionality, equality, legal certainty and the fundamental rights
- The economic freedoms – free movement of goods, capital, persons, services and establishment
Having attended all of the sessions, the student will be issued with a Certificate of Attendance from the European Business University of Luxembourg.
